Justin Elliott Thompson
Video Content Producer
Justin brings more than two decades of experience to his role in telling clients' stories through the powerful medium of video.
He leads our team’s day-to-day video strategy, production and editing in-house. For bigger shoots and more complex projects, he draws from an extensive network of colleagues to manage video shoots and coordinate additional crew members.
His range of work spans feature-length documentaries to quick cuts for social media feeds. His special skills include working with non-actors to gain confidence in front of the camera and adapting to lighting and sound requirements on location. He is also a licensed drone pilot.
With deep roots in Memphis, Tenn., Justin was director of film and video production at Crosstown Concourse. He covered the transformation of the former Sears building in downtown Memphis into a vibrant mixed-use development. His work included shooting and producing event and concert videos, marketing videos and short documentaries.
Prior to joining Crosstown, Justin worked on locally produced television programs, from a home-and-lifestyle show to writing and producing "AC TV" for A C Wharton during his time as mayor of Memphis.
A graduate of the University of Memphis film program, Justin remains involved in the local film and music community. He recently premiered Beatnick Manor, an experimental documentary that he edited about the Memphis College of Art. He is currently working on several documentary projects centering Memphis history, religion and culture.
In addition to spending time with his wife and two daughters, Justin also plays saxophone in several local bands and is a mentor in the Indie Memphis CrewUp youth film program and formally, for several years, conducted a youth film program in collaboration with the English classes held at Northwest Prep, an alternative school in Memphis.
